(Written at a youth hostel in Israel, where we gave away Bibles to young travelers from all over the world.)

Lonely traveler, on the road to truth

Seeking peace in a world torn apart,

Lonely traveler, trying to find a way

To fill the God-shaped hole in your heart.

Can I tell you ‘bout another lonely traveler

Who walked this earth in righteousness alone?

He gave his life for other lonely travelers,

And he has become the Way that leads to home.

(chorus)

Yeah, he loved me. Woah! He bought me

With the blood that he shed so long ago.

Now I’m still just another traveler.

But I’m traveling on the road that leads to home.

Now, I knew something wasn’t right

There was something missing down inside

On a soul quest for the reasons why,

In the end, I just stood there and cried.

Then Jesus took my hand and he saved me

He opened up my eyes that I might see

All along he’d been right there beside me

And the one that had been missing was me.
