My favorite books, my favorite rhymes

Bottomless ice-cream any time

If Mama wasn’t looking.

Jokes and riddles, tricks and blue clay

If I could I would stay all day

And wait for Nanny’s cooking.

Gnarled old hands just as fast as mine

Could play that slap-trick every time

He’d get us both wise cracking.

Saltines and cheese, cold milk in mugs

Then shooting marbles on the rugs

We’d always end up napping.

Nanny would find us sleeping there

With our four feet up in his chair,

We’d wake to find her laughing.
