What can I say to capture the way

The light and the color collide?

What can I sketch to capture the quest

Of Creation’s breathtaking tide?

How can I be like the God I observe?

How can I live so that I might deserve

The glory and power to come?

What can I paint to echo the faint,

White curve of a cloud in the sun?

What can I write to recall the light

When all of my vision has gone?

How shall I merit the prize of this life

Work with a passion for everything right

And learning his language, become?

What can I shape, or what can I make

Out of the soft clay that I am?

But if I should yield to His hand’s will

Then could I become such a man?

Created creative! So let me be

Made in his image, as gloriously—

The Artist and Art become one.
